      The flute is the oldest chinese musical instrument found so far, and it is also the most representative and most national characteristic of the chinese Musical Instruments. The Chinese dizi, one of the cross-blown woodwind instruments commonly used in traditional Chinese music, is generally divided into the Qu flute in the south, the Clapper flute in the north and the mezzo flute in between. The range is usually two octaves and two more.
      The flute is often used in Chinese folk music, opera, Chinese national Orchestra, Western symphony orchestra and modern music, and is one of the representative instruments of Chinese music. In the national band, the flute is an important wind instrument and is regarded as the representative of national wind music.
