The Beauty of Perfection in Traditional Jiangzhou Tixi Lacquerware
4
Jiangzhou Tixi ( “rhinoceros horn ” ) is a national-level intangible cultural heritage. This traditional art form involves the usage of a picking knife to carve patterns on the surface of lacquer ware. The varied colored lacquer layers of the knife edge section resemble the texture of the layers of a cross-section of a rhino horn, hence its name.
