Born in 1993 in Wutun Village, Qinghai Province, I started learning Tangka art from a young age under the guidance of the talented Tangka inheritor, Rangdong Zhi. I have been studying Tangka painting techniques and sculpting for over 20 years. Following my teacher, I have created numerous art pieces in various regions such as Wutai Mountain, Qinghai Tashilhunpo Monastery, Lhasa City in Tibet, Gansu, Yunnan, and others. The collaboration between my teacher and me has produced many exquisite works of art, receiving widespread recognition and praise. During this period, I briefly became a monk at a temple in Wutun, where I studied Buddhist philosophy while also delving into the traditional secret techniques of Regong Tangka art. I was fortunate to receive selfless teachings from the renowned master Gacang, known as one of the "Four Great Heavenly Kings" of contemporary Tangka art. This experience not only enriched my understanding of Buddhist philosophy but also contributed to the development and inheritance of Regong art, accumulating a wealth of Buddhist theoretical knowledge and cultural heritage.
While diligently studying traditional techniques, Zaxi Jiancuo has also learned from various sources, continuously improving his painting skills. With age and the advancement of his artistic abilities, he has developed his own unique painting style and created many exquisite works. In order to promote and enhance the unique artistry of Regong Tangka, he has also trained several apprentices who possess creative painting abilities, contributing to the inheritance and development of Regong art through their collective efforts.
